Tour Plan
Day 1: Arrival in Luxor and East Bank Exploration
On your first day, you'll arrive in Luxor, and your Egyptologist guide will meet you at your hotel in Luxor, the train station, or Luxor airport. You'll embark on an exciting tour in an air-conditioned vehicle, visiting the East Bank. Your first stop is the awe-inspiring Karnak Temple, dedicated to the Theban triad of gods: Amun Ra, Mut, and their son Khunsu, the god of the moon. This temple, a complex structure, was constructed by various kings as an offering to Amun Ra, the principal deity of that era. The highlight of this visit is the Hypostyle Hall, featuring 134 columns arranged in rows. Afterward, you'll explore Luxor Temple, located in the heart of Luxor, built during the rule of King Amenhotep III in the New Kingdom. Following this, you'll transfer to your Nile Cruise for check-in and lunch. The afternoon is at your leisure, and you'll enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in Luxor.
Day 2: Luxor West Bank Expedition and Sailing to Edfu
After breakfast on board your cruise, your knowledgeable Egyptologist guide will accompany you to the West Bank, often referred to as the "city of the dead" where ancient Egyptians constructed their tombs. Your first stop is the Valley of the Kings, where you'll explore three tombs, marveling at the ingenuity and vibrant colors preserved within. Next, you'll visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and your guide will share her remarkable journey to the throne, her divine birth, and her struggle against King Thutmose III. Concluding this portion of your journey, you'll visit the Colossi of Memnon, two colossal statues of King Amenhotep III, and capture some memorable photographs. You'll then return to the cruise for lunch and commence sailing to Edfu city.
Day 3: Edfu Temple and Kom Ombo Temple
Following breakfast on board, your Egyptologist guide will take you on a horse-drawn carriage ride to the well-preserved Edfu Temple, dedicated to the falcon god Horus, the god of protection. Continuing your journey, you'll sail to Kom Ombo, where you'll explore the unique double temple of the gods Horus and Sobek, the god often associated with evil. Afterward, you'll return to the cruise and continue your voyage to Aswan, arriving late in the evening for an overnight stay.
Day 4: Aswan Exploration - Philae Temple and High Dam
Your Egyptologist guide will guide you through the sights of Aswan, starting with a visit to the incredible Philae Temple, accessible by a small motorboat. Your tour will then proceed to the Aswan High Dam and the unfinished obelisk. You'll spend another night in Aswan.
Day 5: Optional Tour to Abu Simbel Temples or Check-Out and Departure Transfer
On your last day, after enjoying breakfast, you have the option to embark on an early morning visit to the renowned Abu Simbel temple. If you choose not to, you'll check out from your accommodation, and an air-conditioned vehicle will transfer you to your hotel, Aswan train station, or the airport for your departure.
